AICUF

All India Catholic University Federation AICUF is a movement which functions at the National, State, Regional, College and grass root levels with Headquarters at Chennai. The AICUF Unit of Fatima College has 84 members from first and second year undergraduate level.

Objectives
  •  
 To enable students to develop a critical awareness and analysis of the Indian and world situation, to cultivate a deep and genuine concern for the oppressed and marginalized and to effectively commit themselves to the task of building a new just society.
  •  
 To motivate students to become involved in studies, research & activities linked to broader social issues and struggles with a view to becoming a creative and critical force within the university.

Target People: Dalit, Women, Tribal, Refugees.

Highlights:
  •  
 The AICUF members hold posts as Regional Secretary, State President, State Women’s co-ordinator, State Dalit Co-ordinator, National Women’s Co-ordinator and Member in National Team.
  •  
 State Women’s Co-ordinator participated in the World Social Forum (WSF) 2004, an International Youth Camp at Mumbai.
  •  
 AICUF Co-ordinator, AICUF Advisor and the office bearers participated in the National Women’s Convention at Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 29th December 2004 to 1st January 2005.
  •  
 State President participated in the World Youth Congress and it’s associated programmes for one month in different places of Germany from 22nd July to 21st August 2005.
  •  
 Actively involved in the tsunami relief work at different places of Tamil Nadu.
  •  
 Organised a seminar on “Social Analysis” in September 1995.
  •  
 Organised state level seminar on “Empowerment of Women” in March 2005.
  •  
 Students actively participated in “Right to information act–campaign 2005” in and around Nagapatnam in May 2007.

 Participated in 7th NATIONAL DALIT EXPOSURE CAMP at Gujarat in May 2007.

 AICUFers participated in summer camp at Trichy in June 2007.

 Office bearers participated in the STATE COUNCIL at Trichy in July2007.

 Participated in the “state level seminar-women & water” at Tuticorin in August 2007.
