The goal we are marching towards

Rotract is one of a series of youth programmes created by Rotary International, which focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces by training and community service, locally and worldwide.

Rotary Community Corps (RCC) — a volunteer organization accentuates on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces by training and community service, locally and worldwide. The Rotract club was inaugurated instated inducted and renovated with bubbling enthusiasm with the aspiration in our college.


To motivate the students and to enhance the humanitarian thoughts to make them to get involve in communal activities

To develop the professional and leadership skills

To provide an opportunity for young women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development

To highlight their own excellence abilities and talents to them.

To address the physical and social needs of their communities.

To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations.

To promote service to the community they work in, as well as to the wider world.

Most Rotaract activities take place in our college campus. Our Rotaract club holds formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to orphanages and old age homes. Club members get together on designated days for service project work, social events, or professional or leadership development workshops. The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Our club elects its president and its active members for a one year term. They are given proper guidance and valuable messages. Rotary clubs are also encouraged to take part in local ventures; these range from efforts which combine contributions to the community with efforts to attract new members.

Our ever fanatical and abetting Rotaracters serve as volunteers in all the functions arranged in our college campus. They help in the successful conduct of functions such as Independence Day, republic day celebration, Valluvar festival, Bharathi day, parent teacher function etc.,. Many projects are organized for the local community by our club such as marathon rally aids awareness rally medical camp etc.

Under the auspices of the Rotract club, several activities were conducted during the academic year.

Under the banner remarkable programmes are conducted for the benefit of the students On blood donation was conducted in our college campus. Nearly 200 students or several students volunteered to offer their blood in order to save the people in precarious condition.

Several special seminars and debates are held in order motivate the students to create proper awareness of the social problems, current needs and wants of the society among the students. These measures help the students to streamline their future goals for the betterment of the society and to improvise any problem boldly. Lectures on career guidance personality development and leadership are provided to the students.

Some of our volunteers got themselves involved in aids awareness campaign conducted by hospital.

A one day camp was conducted in near and about students participated in it through which our volunteers gave various cultural programmes highlighting the values of unity women education cleanliness and its impacts small savings legal awareness and globalization tree plantation programme etc were conducted to develop with a good and clean environment.

The main focus was on youth for cleanliness. Students got involved in cleaning campaign plastic waste removal and public awareness of social realities and road formation. They are also trained in yoga and meditation. Besides our volunteers often got themselves involved in campus cleaning and library cleaning operation now and then.

Our students conducted a rally in on the importance of giving awareness to the village people about Aids.

As a part of our extension activity, we made a one day visit to the orphanage and old age home. The destitute and the sexually tormented people shared their problems with the students.

This year plan:

We intend to care and cater to the visually handicapped students of our college of the neighbouring colleges and the people living nearby we also have a scribe club to help the visually handicapped students around 50 students are the members of this club

With a view to build up the character of students we have introduced a course in rural value based education. One hour a week is set apart for the volunteers for this course. They are offered instruction in various aspects of life. Including social values so as to strengthen and build the character of young men and women. Counseling is given to them to produce better citizens’

General duty throughout the year:

1. Attending Rotary meeting once in a month and work in collaboration with the Rotary club of Madurai west.

2. Arranging seminars once a month – ( Topics)

3. Cleaning the campus.


Grass plucking:

At some time 1 group should visit orphans, another group to school etc.

Cleanings:In & around San Jose mainly, canteen, E.Com lab
