Introduction:

A home away from home, the Fatima College hostel facilitates a healthy and congenial atmosphere and aims at the holistic development of the students.

The hostel currently accommodates 703 students in 7 blocks namely Loretta, Madona, Mary’s own, Marieta, Annunciata, Vimalita and Bethlahem.

The rooms are spacious and ventilated with twenty four hours of light and fan facilities. The hostel provides healthy and hygienic food.

Two STD booths and one local phone are operated.

The daily needs of the students are available in general store in the hostel premises.

The basic medical needs of the students are met at the hostel itself. If necessary the ailing students are taken to the nearby hospital.

The functioning of the hostel, headed by 3 wardens is carried out with the help of a students’ union of four members assisted by seven different committees, namely Mess, Magazine, Sports, Decoration, Discipline, Cleanliness and Cultural.

Prayer is the key of the day and lock of the night. Each day starts with a simple prayer and the evening prayer includes News, General Knowledge and General talk by the students.
 

Special attention is given to follow a regular study time.

Clubs:

The hostellers reinforce their General Knowledge and communication skills to prepare themselves to face this competitive world through the quiz and readers club meetings on alternative Sundays, and the provision of four newspapers and television news a day.

The various sports and cultural competitions held in the hostel encourage the students to showcase their latent talents.

Seminars:

Various seminars, organized at regular intervals promote in the students a new outlook towards life.

Celebrations:

The students imbibe communal harmony by celebrating different religious festivals like Diwali, Vinayaga Chaturthi, Karthigai, Ramzan and Christmas.
