Guidelines for Project

In the contemporary understanding, MBA stands for so much more than mere Master of Business Administration. An MBA connotes for unparalleled skill, brilliant promise and a guaranteed future. Between November 23rd 2009 and January 8th, 2010, all MBA students of our college under-take an organizational based research project. This exercise is meant to provide an unique opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and career potential.

It is helpful for students in getting real world experience, developing contacts with an industry of interest, developing leads for possible future employment and of course fulfilling the requirements of the MBA Programme. The experience also helps consolidate the learning of the past three semesters. The trainees learn to understand what are the issues relating to the corporate world and associate it with theory and decide how to go about in doing a quality research. Later present concrete suggestions to the host company for them to take action or take into consideration as they move forward. It's a worthwhile experience for all who are concerned and provides a useful stepping stone to take up a job after a year and a half in the classroom.

Objective:

The Project is an essential requirement and integral part of the curriculum for successful completion of the programme. The project aims at developing insight and capabilities in the students for an in-depth study, research, interpretation, and analysis on a particular chosen topic.

Selection of Project Topic:

  • Project topic has to be selected with respect to the programme of study and area elected by the student.
  • Title of the project should clearly and precise. And also specify the objective and scope of the study.
  • Project selection has to be made in consultation with the Faculty Guide/Industry Guide.

Reporting

  • Students should report to their Faculty Guide every week through email marking a  copy of their mail to the Department e-mail
  • They should consult their faculty guide before finalizing their draft.
  • They should come in person for the review each month.

 I review- 7th Dec, 2009 ;   II review – 9th Jan, 2010

  • Joining report to be submitted in the given format on or before 23.11.09 through e-mail (fatima_mba_dept@yahoo.co.in)
  • Progress report from the Company guide to be submitted in the given format through post addressed to The Director, Dept. of Management Studies, Fatima College, Madurai-625018.
